Studies show that Helichrysum oil has been found to be safe in general but there is some form of evidence that shows otherwise so be cautious when using it. Like most essential oils, Helichrysum oil should only be used on skin when diluted with a carrier oil. Be sure to do test patches with any essential oil you choose to apply on your skin. If the test patch starts to show any sign of inflammation or irritability do not proceed to use that essential oil. A study has shown that Helichrysum oil has forced some liver cells to stop working in the human body, but not enough research and studies have been conducted to verify this and there isn’t enough evidence to prove so. There have not been enough studies done to deem whether Helichrysum oil is 100% safe for human skin, however, it is generally deemed safe to use.
